SlimCORE™ LSZH Indoor Fibre Cables

The SlimCORE™ series is engineered for ultra-high density across its entire range. While the 12F and 24F variants maintain a tiny 4.5 mm outer diameter (OD), the architecture scales impressively; even at high densities like 144F, the cable remains ultra-compact at just 10.2 mm. By utilizing a micro-core design rather than traditional bulky sub-units, SlimCORE™ achieves an area reduction of up to 70% compared to standard premise cables. This significantly minimizes tray occupancy, reduces total cable weight (e.g., 144F at only ~90 kg/km), and facilitates much-needed airflow in congested data center pathways.

SlimCORE™ is built using 250µm primary-coated fibers in a single-unit construction. For single-mode applications, it uses G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fiber as the standard, which is fully backward compatible with G.652.D. For multimode, it is available in OM3, OM4 (Aqua or Erika Violet), and OM5 (Lime Green) variants to support high-speed 40G, 100G, and 400G architectures.

The bend radius is calculated based on the Outer Diameter (OD). For installation (under load), the minimum radius is ≥20 × OD (approx. 90 mm). Once installed (static), the radius can be as tight as ≥10 × OD (approx. 45 mm). This tight static bend radius is what makes it ideal for routing within shallow wall cavities and compact fiber termination patches.

Unlike loose-tube or sub-unitized cables, SlimCORE™ uses a single-unit construction. This means there are no internal buffer tubes to manage. You can strip the 4.5 mm jacket to reveal the 250µm fibers directly, which are ready for fusion splicing or direct termination into MPO/MTP® connectors and LC pigtails without the need for bulky ‘breakout’ or ‘fan-out’ kits.

SlimCORE™ is available for global markets with options including OFNP ratings and Cca ratings under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). The LSZH version also meets IEC 60332-1 and IEC 60332-3-24 flame retardancy standards. This ensures that in a fire event, the cable produces very low smoke, minimal flaming droplets, and low acid gas emission, making it safe for high-occupancy commercial buildings.
